Vices and Gainful Destruction are Conceived by the Selfish and Evil-Minded

VICES AND GAINFUL DESTRUCTION

ARE CONCEIVED BY THE SELFISH AND EVIL- MINDED

By Apolinario Villalobos

People travel to places after being told by friends that they are worth visiting, aside from reading about them in magazines, both printed and televised…so they spend for it. Their need to see places have been conceived by other people and various forms of media that practically, entice them to embark on an adventure. Without the encouragement, people will not even think of leaving their home because they have no idea that beautiful places exist somewhere.  It is in this manner that the evil-minded have conceived vices for their unsuspecting victims to enjoy, such that, they will attain a euphoric state of satisfaction when they indulge themselves in them. Later, these vices which could be alcohol, cigarette, gambling, and drugs would develop into some sort of necessities of their victims. At the end, the evil-minded have become successful in creating the needs for their victims.

There has been no need for bombs and guns until such need was created by people who thought of gainful destruction. Along with what have been made to attain a selfish motive, the manner, with which they could be used have been conceived, so there are wars and terrorism. Had the evil-minded not brought forth into the world such instrumentalities of destruction, people would have thought of just reaping the grains in the field as they get ripe, hunt for food needed for a day or two, enjoy the moon when it is in its fullest, and worship Nature as a manifestation of a powerful Force….in other words, just lead a simple life, until today.

The tendency of man to abuse has underlined his evil-mindedness. And, because of that, practically, everything that has got to do with life has been abused, such as, kindness, authority, trust, love, Nature, food, water, medicine, animals, plants, mental faculty, etc. His disdainful selfishness has eventually, led him to a gainful destruction that likewise, leads him along the path of self-destruction!

The Sound Of Silence – It Is Deafening

And I Didn`t Look Back

This is on repeat because it fits right now.

The Sound Of Silence

By Disturbed

Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

Fools, said I, you do not know
Silence like a cancer…

Quezon City Memorial Circle (PH)

No Juan Is An Island

Dreamy, rousing and outright Instagram-worthy – these are often how I describe a captured sunset experience. Most of us rave about the setting sun’s beauty along the beach. I, personally, consider it as one of the most spectacular moments. But since I work in the metro, a sunset view by the beach is a rare sighting. After working for more than a year now in the Greater Manila Area, I have come to scout places where I can draw out inspiration.

One particular place I find really inspiring is the Quezon City Memorial Circle (QCMC). The “Circle” as locals would call it, has to be one of the prominent landmarks in Quezon City. Through the years, with the endless efforts of the local government, it has been undergoing a lot of changes so as to attract more tourists.

The Quezon Memorial Circle is a national park and a national shrine…

Borobudur & Prambanan: Indonesia’s Soul

No Juan Is An Island

Yogyakarta (often called “Jogja or Yogya”) is a city on the island of Java known for its beyond visible traditional arts, cultural and intellectual heritage – hence being regarded as Indonesia’s “soul”.

img_20160901_153235

This special region of Indonesia is sternly independent and protecting of its customs, and still headed by its sultan, whose Kraton (a royal palace) remains the center of traditional life, despite Yogya being a large urban centre – making it one of Indonesia’s most liveable (and lovable) city!

What makes it more lovable? Yogyakarta is home to two of Indonesia’s most important archaeological sites, Borobudur and Prambanan!

img_20160902_082008

Set amongst dewy, forest-clad hills near the city of Yogyakarta is a structure built in about 800AD. Borobudur is regarded as one of the world’s most extraordinary temples. It is made up of 72 stupas — mound-like or hemispherical structure containing relics, typically the remains of Buddhist monks or nuns) each…
