Pagmamahal, damdaming walang katumbas at katapat

Mahalagang nilalang sa ating buhay…ina nating magiting!

Para sa Namayapang Kaibigan

At Kapatid…Ted Lapuz

Natatangi kang kaibigan,  bilang ama nama’y huwaran

Understanding A Friend

Understanding a Friend

(for Ted Lapuz)

By Apolinario Villalobos

When I extended my hand for a shake

Do I see streaks of doubt in your eyes?

I’d like to think that it’s just

The true you

That you wanted to show.

I know that you have tried

To find real friends

But others thought

It’s hard to grasp the real you

Until now, some still do.

But you’re sincere and strong

So don’t despair, my friend

You’ll prove them wrong…

Seeing Truth and Reality…thanks to a fallen friend

Seeing Truth and Reality

…thanks to a fallen friend

(for Ted Lapuz)

By Apolinario Villalobos

You told me once between rounds of rum

That life is short but could be meaningful

If lived according to the Book of Man.

It seems, now, you said it right

As I imagine your lips with a contented smile

As if telling me,  that everything’s alright.

You opened my eyes to see reality

And made me live life

The way it should be lived- with sincerity

You told me, too,

To appreciate what God has given me –

Those which only He

Has all the right to take…

Thank you my friend

For letting me see –

Truth and reality.

Living Without Regret

Living Without Regret

(for Ted Lapuz)

By Apolinario Villalobos

For someone who struggled hard

To be where he wants to be

You’ve just shown that life –

Really, is what you make it.

You are there now…

You have worked for it

You are where you wanted to be.

Life is what you make it

And you are helping yourself

Savor it to the fullest.

Also, it is good for you

To remember that up there

Somebody extends a hand

While whispering that

-life is sweet

-full of hope…

And should be lived

Without regret.

For My Dear Mother …poem for Mother’s Day

Poem for Mother’s Day May 11, 2014

FOR  MY DEAR MOTHER…

By Apolinario Villalobos

Just like the rays of the sun that burst forth

To flood the earth with warmth and light

Stringing the world with threads of life

You, with that warm smile and twinkling eyes

Makes me feel like there’s no darkness

And gloomy twilight

That dims the sight.

That radiant face just glow

Thanks to the womb that nurtured you.

You once told me:

“In this world, roads are strewn with rocks and thorns

Clear skies may suddenly turn dark

To let go of torrential downpour

That could wash down your enthusiasm desire

Leaving you, chilling in the mired.

But if you will just set your eyes

Beyond the horizon

Where there are clearer skies

Your hopes won’t go to waste my child

Especially, if you just let God

Be your guide.”

Now I know….I love you mother!
